My name is Anna, I live in Cape Town in South Africa. I’m a qualified and experienced English Language teacher. I'm also a champion of literacy and advocate of play for children.
I’ve been teaching English for 25 years to students of all ages, mainly children ages 5 through to 14, and adults. I hold a CELTA certificate and an Honours degree in Applied Linguistics, specialising in teaching English as a second language from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
My Background and Experience
I have a lifelong interest in first and second language acquisition and learning. From the outset of my career, my fascination with language has been the foundation of what I do. Before falling in love with teaching, I worked in educational publishing in South Africa as an English Language Publisher, and was involved in many exciting projects in Zambia and Botswana.
As a teacher, my journey took me to many countries. I have been fortunate to teach in South Africa, Namibia, Armenia and Sri Lanka in multicultural classrooms. It gives the greatest pleasure to see my students succeed and become confident speakers of English.
