Über mich selbst
Hi, I'm Soma, welcome to my page.
I have more than seven years of experience in teaching English, Hungarian and Italian to individuals and groups, mostly as a freelancer at language schools and larger Hungarian firms and organizations. I have successfully prepared several students for language exams (EURO Exam; Cambridge B1, B2, C1; IELTS) and the Hungarian Érettségi exam. I hold a CELTA certificate as well as a BA degree in Hungarian and Italian and an MA degree in Linguistics.
I worked as a lecturer in Hungarian at the Udmurt State University for four years where I taught a variety of modules and developed course materials for them. I was also responsible for teaching English, Theoretical English Grammar and Translation Theory to students specialising in Translation Studies.
Learning languages is a hobby of mine, and I'm convinced that it can be a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. My philosophy as a teacher is to make the lessons a safe space for students where they can freely express themselves in a supportive and friendly environment without needing to worry about making mistakes. I always tailor the lessons so that they match the students' needs and expectations.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, doing jigsaw puzzles, worldbuilding and playing with my four lovely cats.
